In Progress: Gundam Regen Duel

Hoooza!  A nice long weekend! After the Sazabi, I bought two gundam kits. Both were new releases and from the Seed series. I already finished assembling and painting the first one, the Gale Strike. Now, I’m starting on the next project, the Regen Duel.

I still have to catch up on blog posts for the kits. My last one was the Tieren. Anyways, check out more photos of the in-progress build report for my Duel.

RF Philippines Server Merge

GM Vessago said it best in his announcement on why we’re doing the server merge. We wanted to keep the game more exciting and challenging. With the first and still the best sci-fi, PVP-based MMORPG, RF Online remains true to our commitment to give this promise to our community.

I’m reprinting GM Vessago’s great announcement after the break…

Gamer Sues WoW For Mental Illness

After filing cases against Sony for various reasons such as violation of his rights to the First Amendment, his broken Xbox360 caused him “undue stress”, and for the Nintendo Wii for interfering with his “right to pursue happiness”, Erik Estavillo of San Jose, California is at it again. This time, he has turned his attention against Blizzard and World of Warcraft. Estavillo claimed that the game has a “harmful virtual environment” with “sneaky and deceitful practices.”

He recently filed the $1M suit against Blizzard for causing him undue mental health.

Outcry Over Modern Warfare 2 Airport Level

Here’s the full HD video of the Airport mission/level in Modern Warfare 2. In this mission, you’re an undercover agent and you casually walk with the terrorists and brazenly open fire at innocent civilians. This has stirred an outcry over the Internet and the game has been reportedly banned in Russia and in other countries

Warning: The video has extreme graphic violence. I mean, these are REAL PEOPLE… I wouldn’t bat an eyelash if they were zombies. Thoughts?

Baseco Charity Event Update

A couple of weeks ago, I finally turned over the cash and in-kind donations to Habitat for Humanity, my official charity org/partner for my Baseco Birthday charity drive. Thanks to all the donors, we’ve managed to raise around P41,000.00 and got a lots and lots of old clothes, toys, books and other in-kind donations for the poor kids of Baseco, Tondo.

Habitat finally sent me via email the photos of the event. Allow me to share them with you. Again, many thanks to all who donated and offered support for this event… this is my best birthday ever. Just seeing the smile on the kids’ face gives me so much joy! I hope you feel the same way too.

I thought I’d be a happy guy without stress after the much successful LIVE 2009. Was I wrong. After my 1 week vacation, it’s back to a lot of work as we prepare for a lot of new content updates for our games, not the just the MMORPGs, which I head, but for the casual games too. Everyone in the team is uber-busy and we’re all excited to bring ‘em and announce the updates to the community.

Movies – 2012

Last weekend, me and the family had a blast when we watched 2012 on the big screen.

It’s a great movie! This beats all the other disaster movies combined. I won’t spoil it for you, you gotta see it in the theater. For a glimpse of things to come, check out the trailer above. I hope we really learn to love the environment… all this talk about global warming, makes me uneasy. Do your share.

Don’t miss it. Highly recommended!

What If We Didn’t Have Internet

These past couple of days, I was fiddling around with the configuration settings of my new WiFi router and the broadband modem at home. Since they were assigned the same IPs by default, I had to find ways to make them work. Grrrr!

Calling the customer service and 5 technician house calls couldn’t solve the problem… but geeks at various pinoy forums and sites such as www.pinoydsl.net did the job.

Meanwhile, this led me to think… what would happen if WE DID NOT have the convenience of the web. The first picture above painted a thousand words, so to speak… jump to see more
