Off to Japan for RWC 2009

Tomorrow, I’ll be going to Yokohama, Japan together with Team Influenza, this year’s 2009 RPC Champs. I’ll also be with Ryan Sacares, pRO Brand Manager and Jake Sandiego, Level Up PH Marketing Director.

I’ll be covering the matches of team Pilipinas and will be posting updates here and in my Facebook page. So be my fan now so you can get automatic updates. I’ll be doing photo and (hopefully) video coverage too.

Support Team Philippines and include us in your prayers, k?

We’ll give them one helluva fight and sana, bring home the first ever RWC crown for our country.

Strength and Honor!

Timewaster: The Gun Game

Bored? Try this cool flash game simply called, duh, The Gun Game. The Gun Game is a physics-based shooting game. Mission of the gun game is to destroy the targets on the left side. You must be in the area on the right side in order to shoot the gun.

I had a blast. I’m sure you will too. Click here to play

Pen And Paper RPG Will Never Be The Same

Surfacescapes Demo Walkthrough from Surfacescapes on Vimeo.

They say that Technology improves things. But purist gamers eventually will prefer old pen-and-paper favorites such as Dungeons and Dragons played the traditional way – with dice, pencils, graphing paper and miniatures.

In this age of hi-tech, the new Microsoft Surface will change everything. Watch the video above on how we will be playing traditional pen-and-paper games using new technology.

It’ll make every nerd drool! (count me in)… Peace!

Start An Internet Cafe Business in the Philippines Part 2

I often get a lot of hits/visits on the original post I did almost 2 years ago. From there, I’ve responded to a lot of emails and comments (225 as of last count) and hopefully, helped would-be entrepreneurs to start out. Sana, by this time, kumikita na ang mga cafe nyo.

After that original post, I augmented it with a follow-up post; Internet Cafe Business where I helped a reader on her question of whether to buy brand new PCs or buy an already furbished shop.

In this installment, I’ll tackle some of the most-often asked questions; Capital: How much do you need to start out? and Return on Investment (ROI)

Goodbye Tunay Na Lalake

One of my favorite Pinoy Blogs, Tunay Na Lalake (or TNL) has simply vanished. I just saw them get some awards a couple of weeks back at the PBA.

Anyways, currently, the only thing posted on their blog are the words “Paalam Baby… It’s not you. It’s me.” All their archives and posts are also gone.

Makes me wonder. Does anyone know the reason(s) why they closed? For what’s it worth – thank you TNL for all the laughs and for the good times.

You will be missed…

Burger King Windows 7

Talk about a great marketing slash publicity stunt.

Burger King in Japan has offered it’s Windows 7 whopper! A stagerring 5.1 inches and SEVEN PATTIES! Whoa! This costs 777 yen (around $8.53 and PHP 350). This is in time for the Windows 7 worldwide release! Cool!

Check out the photo after the break…

Gadgets – The Coolest USB Devices

USB devices are a dime-a-dozen. Go to any mall, head up to CDR-King and you’ll get what I mean.

Most of us buy either a flashdrive or mini-hub to insert MORE USB stuff into our PCs. But I betcha, you didn’t know that there are cool and outrageous USB gadgets out there, eh?

See more after the jump!

How To Make Great Youtube Videos

If you’re new to video making or video editing, I thought I’d share with you a few of my tips on how to make great youtube videos (or any vid that you can share online via SNS or other video sharing sites).

For me, one of the most annoying things is to look at a boring family picnic that’s either a) 10 minutes long or b) takes a million years to load.

Before we go into the actual tips, here are a couple of rules that you have to bear in mind – Keep It Short and Keep It Interesting.

Details follow…
