RF Online Philippines Rollback

It really was a tough choice and a bitter pill to swallow.

Just last night, after thorough analysis and thought, I finally gave the green light to roll back character data of RF Philippines to the state of May 23, 2008 4am. And boy, it was a tough call.

Around that fateful time, a new and dangerous threat to RF surfaced – the Gold Dupe Hack. With this hack, a lot of unscrupulous players had BILLIONS of in-game cash and hundreds of thousands of gold. The economy was in ruins, prices of normal items skyrocketed and there was a huge excess of cash. Duping and screwed-up in-game economies are not new to us… we had to deal with them before but this one was quite alarming.

Thanks to great efforts of CCR, the developers for the game, the dupe was fixed fast. After the patch solution, I gathered the RF team to analyze the damage that was brought about by the cheat.

Crazy Kart: Level Up’s Newest Game

Woot!

I’ve been on gag about this for the longest time. This project is one of the “top secret” ones that I was working on. It’s also one of the (many) reasons why I go home late from work every night.

But at long last, the information is public and I can announce to the entire world that we, Level Up, have a new game. Please all welcome CRAZY KART – the Philippines’ first online casual racing game.

I was given the honor to head marketing for this game and I have the privilege to be one of the internal beta testers and I can say that WOWWW!!! This game is really fun and engrossing. With an easy to control interface, individual and team “battle mode” and lots of funky cars, power ups and “weapons” for you to use, I am confident that Crazy Kart will go places.

Blog Contest: Community Q and A

I know it’s been a while since the last blog contest.

Here’s something new… it’s the gmtristan dot com Community Q&A blog contest. The rules are simple. Just comment below and ask a question related to ANY Level Up game (RF Online, Ragnarok, Perfect World, FlyFF or Freestyle). At the end of the contest period, I’m going to pick five (5) winners. As of today, Technorati is currently tracking around 70 million blogs… with more being added by the minute. If it were a universe, how would the blogosphere look?

Well, these dudes with too-much-time on their hands did exactly that – map the blogosphere with “hyperbolic” data using actual blogs and their links.

Alright… where am I in this dense universe??? It looks like the Milky Way.

Honestly, my doctors have advised me to kick the damn habit.

I can proudly say that I’m an expert in kicking my smoking habit. Why? Coz I’ve done it many times (and failed). Sigh.

Meanwhile, while trying to Google some aids to help me stop smoking, I discovered this wicked, cool “Indoor Approved” cigarette. Dubbed the Super Smoker, you can get it for $140 US (around PHP 5,000++) and you’ll have to shell out more for the cartridges. Guess what? You’re better off smoking outside… or, if you’re a smoker, join me in my quest as I do the next best thing – QUIT!

Let’s hear it for Precious Adona, this month’s cover girl for FHM Philippines. Sexy Precious is a finalist at the Be Bench search. She’s also now being called the “Playmate ng Bayan”. Precious also starred in the indie film Three Days of Darkness with Viva hotbabes Gwen Garci and Katya Santos.

The movie is directed by noted indie director Khavn.

How Rich Are Our Philippine Senators?

Here’s a break from our regular game programming.

Alright, you voted for them. They won. Now, do you want to know how rich our currently-elected senators are?

Inquirer recently published an article saying that Senator Manny Villar leads the pack with a net worth of over 1 billion pesos (USD 23.8M) while Sen. Trillanes is the “poorest” with a net worth of just P2.6 million.

This is based on the senators’ recently declared statement of assets and liabilities (SAL) for 2007. The SAL is a yearly requirement for our officials and is for public consumption.

Even if the armor they wear provides the same type of protection as their male counterparts? Yeah, right! Babes don’t just look good in full-plate. Although you get the “curves”, there ain’t much flesh.

And it’s all in the flesh, boys. And yes, they do offer the same protection. I mean, you can repel arrows, pole-arms, spears and swords with the amount of plate and mail that these babes have, right?
