Ever since the term “Web 2.0” was coined in 2005, it has become a buzz word and is used by both techies, marketers and everyone who wants to get a piece of the pie which is the world wide web.
Google has over 74 million instances of it. But what exactly is Web 2.0? My goal is to simplify the vast collective information about it so far. Join me as I attempt to explain it in layman’s terms and maybe you or your company can benefit from it.
Let’s start with the definition of Web 2.0. Wikipedia lists it as “the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.” This was according to Tim O’Reilly’s famous September 2005 post.

More details after the jump.

There are a thousand ways to make money online. If you have a current business or plan to set-up shop in the near future, here are some tips on how to get started.
The first thing that you have to do is to have a very competent and reasonably priced product. What you’re selling online should be compelling enough for a LOT of people to buy. There are million things to sell. Once you’ve figured out what to sell then you have to consider your options on how to branch out and then sell these things online.
Of course, once you have the products, then you have to build your website. If you don’t have the technical know-how, you either do research on the web or hire either a friend or a professional to get you started. Here’s another tip: Make that URL easy to remember and then get a simple, hassle free solution to sell your products online.

One of the best in the business is Ashop commerce. Ashop offers a ONE-STOP ecommerce solution and shopping cart software
Check out what they can do for you after the jump.

“Chibi” is a Japanese word meaning “short person” or “small child.” The word has gained currency amongst fans of manga and anime. In terms of drawings, these are the “super deformed”, much the style or art in Ragnarok is.
Now that we have that covered, I’d like to share with you a wonderful online comic, the Chibi Adventures of Batman and Superman. Credit goes to Singapore artist, inkblot and his studio.

Enjoy!

For those of us who speak “MMO” like ‘aggro’, ‘ganking’, ‘Pvp’, ‘PvE’, etc. We probably will skip the tutorial of a new MMORPG game.
But what about the millions of people out there who have never played an MMORPG before? Are the current tutorials in existing games good enough for them? Some would be content with skipping the lengthy and boring medleys and just experience the game head on. But of course, some would want to be spoon-fed info. So, what do game developers and designers need to do?
Sure tutorials are important. But my main beef with them is a) they’re long and b) they’re boring. What if we come up with alternatives to make tutorials more fun and interactive? That would be a swell thought…

2 weeks ago, some of my officemates held a Guitar Hero 3
party. Project Officer Alex Mena brought his Xbox 360 and we “borrowed” the LCD projector from the conference room. Then some guys brought their Guitar Hero 3 guitars, we pumped up the volume and we rocked like hell ’til late in the evening.
I have to admit, it was my first time to play Guitar Hero and it was a blast. It was so fun and addicting that I had to find a way to play it at home. I still don’t have an Xbox 360 yet but I am saving for it and have plans to buy it this year.

In this day and age, when I go out of the house, I rarely see kids playing traditional Philippine games. These are the games that I used to play as a kid. Some of these games include patintero, taguan and agawan-base.
Of course, the games of choice are now video games and online. You’re most likely to hear a group of kids chatting about an MMORPG or about Guitar Hero rather than talking about real games.

But are the traditional games dead because of the rise in technology? Let’s find out.

With the growth of the online gaming industry and the influence of the internet in our daily lives, a lot of people are in need to be “connected”. Unfortunately, not everyone here in the Philippines has access to good hardware and a decent connection. But all of that is changing now, especially with the frenetic rise of Internet Cafes in our country.
For the local MMORPG industry, roughly 80% of our business comes from the cafes. So it’s important to have a good relationship with our “partners”.
Meanwhile, I’m certain that a lot of individuals or friends (mostly thru gaming) are considering opening up their own shop. Mind you, it’s no joke. A business is always serious.

I thought I’d share with you some practical tips on how to start (and maintain) your own Internet Cafe.
One more click, faps…

I already told you guys about how to Monetize your blog. And I thought I’d try another opportunity on the category of sponsored posts. I just recently signed up for payperpost and just got my blog approved.
PayPerPost helps you earn by writing reviews and opinions about products and services offered by advertisers. What’s good about this service is that the navigation and organization of the site is way better than some of their competition. Although the site is heavy on colors and graphics, I don’t mind the extra wait during the load time… it’s worth it.
With a good interface, this means that you always find opportunities that you are qualified for. No need to memorize your page ranks or other stats. PPP gives it to you automatically, all you have to do is write the post and submit it.

We all love the “new TV 2.0″, more popularly known as youtube.com
I’m sure you saw great, funny and classic youtube videos that are meant to be shared to your friends or kept in your hard drive or mobile media player as part of your collection (I mean, you can show it your friends anywhere too, right?) But the problem is, you can’t.
First, there is no “save as” when you right click the video. Second, the files are in FLV (Flash Video files). So, after you download it, you still have to use a converter to duh, convert the files to workable video files for Windows Media Player or the format of your choosing (for your iPod or PSP, for example).
There are several steps to do this. Let’s see that (and several videos on how to do it) after the break.
