[ timewaster ] Elf Quilibrium

December 27, 2007 · Filed Under General, Musings, Online, Gaming · Comment

Aha!

Here’s a nice find.. perfect for the Christmas Season.

In this flash game called Elf Quilibrium, you balance Santa (with his elf helper on his back) by crossing tight-rope style across roofs and then dropping toys. Insanely addictive and simple gameplay and loads of fun. Use the mouse to balance him by swaying left to right and then right-click to drop gifts.

How far can you go?

A New Look For GMTristan.Com

December 27, 2007 · Filed Under Blogging · 3 Comments

One of the things I need to tick off my “to-do” list is a new site design for gmtristan.com.

Not that I don’t like the current design. I actually love it. It serves its purpose.

But here are several reasons why I’m eyeing a redesign:

  • Navigation - visitors should be able to access information clearly. Sections should be highlighted so that readers can go wherever they want without need to scroll down.
  • Ads Optimization - I also want to optimize adwords further. So the need for unobtrusive, yet strategic, placement is key.
  • Highlights - Now that I have slightly changed formats, I need to highlight some sections (like Girls and Videos) as well.
  • Eye Candy - last not but not least, is to make the site fresh and pleasing to eye, of course.

I’m currently using my charm to convince Kiven Codamon to help me with the redesign. He’s just on Holiday hiatus. When he comes back, it’s back-breaking work as we struggle to put up the new look before January 2008 is over.

Meanwhile, here are some designs that will influence my site’s new look:

2007 will soon come to a close. I’ve been officially blogging since February of this year but I started out without my own URL at blogger.com.

After almost a year of posting 1 to 3 articles a day, I guess it’s time to reflect on the my most popular posts of 2007 and put in a few notes and analysis.

Of course, I wouldn’t have had this modicum of success without the support of all my dear readers. Especially those who are “loyal” enough to visit here regularly. I owe you big time. A million thanks to you all.

At any rate, my most popular post has over 19,000++ visits… man, that’s a lot.

The most popular posts and the reasons why after the jump…

You might know her more as the hot and foxy Jessica/Niki Sanders from the popular Heroes TV Series.

And yeah, she’s a real Jekyll and Hyde. She can go ballistic on me anytime! Rawrr!

Ali Larter, the actress, was born February 28, 1976 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and aside from Heroes has appeared in TV shows like Dawson’s Creek and Chicago Hope.

[ video ] God of War Lyrics

December 25, 2007 · Filed Under General, Videos, Gaming · 3 Comments

Something innovative and witty from youtube. Credit goes to ValorofMan for uploading the video.

This is a video cartoon that satires the God of War 2 lyrics. Yeah, it does sound like “Hold Devil’s Pot of Tea”.

Also, you might be wonderin’ why there’s a picture of Mulan here at this post. Well, you’ll know when you watch the video.

[ OT ] Pinoy Excuse Letters

December 24, 2007 · Filed Under Uncategorized, Musings · 11 Comments

I used to pester my mom for excuse letters when I was still at school. So far, she wrote straight to the point and my teachers would well, excuse me from such things as the common cold, fever and even intestinal flu.

Just recently, I got this collection from an e-mail in my high school e-groups about funny (and what seems like actual) Filipino excuse letters. I just had to share it with you.

These letters were supposedly compiled from various schools all across the country (including the original spelling). Commentaries are also from the original and not mine. Let’s check out the first entry, shall we?

My son is under a doctors care and should not take P.E. today. Please execute him.

Tsk. Tsk. Poor son…

GM Tristan Goes Christmas Shopping

December 24, 2007 · Filed Under Musings · 3 Comments

Oh yeah, baby!

Like most people who don’t have plans, I go with the multitudes for some last minute Christmas gift shopping. I did it with the Queen of Midgard (aka, my wife) at Greenhills yesterday. Time to put stress levels to the test as we go on an adventure to find the best buys, scout for parking slots and try to remember what gifts to buy.

Ready? Join me as I go to Greenhills and then to a detour to SM Centerpoint to get all the Christmas shopping done…

The adventures of GM T’s shopping after the break…
